AIMING FOR A 1st SKI DESCENT IN HIMALAYA
Five men forming a single climbing party for a joint project: to ski one of the last 8000s still to be conquered. This is the bold undertaking awaiting Vivian Bruchez, Mathieu Maynadier, Michael Arnold, Léo Slemett and Mathéo Jacquemoud this fall on Dhaulagiri (8167m – Nepal). Although several expeditions have already attempted this mission, no one has so far managed to ski the normal route of the “White Mountain” in its entirety. THE EXPEDITION AS IF YOU WERE THERE
Acclimatization, equipment, extreme cold, weather, topography – so many different issues that our athletes will have to prepare for, anticipate and then confront on site to reach the summit and achieve a successful descent. We went to meet them before they left for Nepal so they could tell you all about their preparations.
